During our meeting with Gilbert we discussed the interviews we had already done, including a particularily boring one with Mr. Charlie Blaha, and the two interviews we plan on doing right after spring break. Potential destinations discussed included the bowling alley, a lake to go fishing, and a roller rink. We decided that we will follow up with Charlie and go to the fishing hole soon after the end of spring break.
Our group has decided to search out all things fun in Licking County. We will interview people about where they go for fun in Licking County. We will then go to these places and determine if they really are fun or if our source is an idiot. Everything will be recorded including the conversations which occur in the car on our way to the destination. In short its a scavenger hunt for fun in central Ohio.
Just for the record, I thought that we should give a rough outline of what our project consists of. Kenneally, Puff, and I came up with the idea of doing a radio show about searching for something fun to do in central Ohio. I'm sure we are all familiar with the lack of entertaining things to do around here (especially in the Granville/Newark area), so we are going to interview people to find out what they actually do for fun. We will then go to those place, experience it, and give our take on whether it is a worthwhile place to go for leisure activity. While we are at these places, we will also interview other people there to find out if they enjoy the activity and why they come to that particular place, and also interview them as to what else they do for fun. That will bring us to a completely new activity to repeat the above procedure. Our transitions will be in the form of roadtrips to different places, and through our reflections, we should be able to make some kind of revelation as to the worthwhile activities to pursue in central ohio.
So far, we have interviewed the now famous Charlie Blaha about his joy of fishing and have a few others lined up. However, due to busy schedules leading up to spring break, we haven't had a chance to get new interviews yet.
